The government is committed to supporting the initiative led by the non-governmental organization “Bajovo ognjište” to build a memorial for the historic figure Bajo Pivljanin in the town of Rudinice, Plužine, as announced by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
During a meeting with Radenko Damjanović, the president of the association’s Board of Directors, the urban and architectural plans for the memorial complex were presented.
Spajić stated, “The collaboration between the initiators, the local community, and the Government exemplifies a successful model for executing projects aimed at safeguarding Montenegro’s historical and cultural heritage.”
According to the Government, Damjanović highlighted that the “Bajovo Ognjiste” association has secured the optimal location, developed a conceptual design for the sculpture that gained widespread acclaim from both professionals and the general public, financed the Main Architectural Design of the area, and adhered to all legal requirements.
“I am confident that through the joint efforts of the Association, the Government, and the Municipality, this project will come to fruition, and the birthplace of the beer hero will acquire a significant landmark. The four-meter-tall monument, along with an adjoining hill, pedestal, amphitheater, and staircase, will be very impressive and richly symbolic,” Damjanović remarked.
