We Must Restore a Prime Minister Committed to Upholding the Law and Strengthening Institutions

Miloš Konatar, Vice President and Leader of the Parliamentary Caucus of the Civic Movement URA, has urged Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to revoke the unconstitutional decision made by the Constitutional Committee as soon as a parliamentary majority is established, according to a statement from the Civic Movement URA.
“Once the opposition occupies the parliamentary benches, it’s imperative to hold the Prime Minister, who has a penchant for flouting the law and destabilizing institutions, accountable and ensure he adheres to constitutional and lawful practices,” Konatar emphasized in his statement.
He continued by criticizing Spajić’s narrative that the absence of a budget is due to the opposition, calling it just one of many failed attempts to deflect blame related to the crisis he initiated.
“If he genuinely prioritizes the interests of the citizens, he can initiate a budget debate in just five minutes. We would gladly engage in discussions about the Prime Minister’s fanciful plans: Velje Brdo, a billion from Japan, 500 million in investments for Pljevlja, 500 kilometers of highways, among others in parliament, once he chooses to respect the law and the constitution,” Konatar stated.
This morning, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, called on parliament to pass the budget by tomorrow.
“Let’s give those parliamentarians who thrive on podiums and blockades a few days of well-deserved rest,” Spajić remarked.
