Matija Roganović: Balkan Champion

Montenegrin boxer Matija Roganović has achieved victory by securing the gold medal at the Balkan Championship held in Loznica.

In the final clash of the under-75 kilograms category, the junior from Nikšić triumphed over Romanian boxer Andreu Iovču.

Roganović’s win came through a split decision rendered by the judges. Notably, Iovču had previously earned a bronze medal at the last European Championship.

In the semi-finals, Roganović secured his spot in the final by defeating the Greek representative with a unanimous decision from the judges.

Additionally, Roganović’s brother, Miloš Roganović, is set to contend for gold in the youth category.

Both athletes are instructed by coach Boško Drašković during the championship.

The Balkan Championship in Loznica boasts the participation of around 300 boxers spanning three age categories, representing all Balkan nations along with athletes from Ukraine, Hungary, and Austria, as permitted by the European Boxing Confederation, which is overseeing the championship.
