“Teammate Knocked Out in Locker Room, Police File Criminal Complaint”
The Zagreb police have launched a criminal investigation against RK Zagreb handball player Miloš Kos (22), who is accused of assaulting his teammate Matej Mandić (27) following a match on November 22 in the Zagreb Arena’s locker room.
According to the Zagreb Police Department (PUZ), the incident was not initially reported; however, the investigation commenced as soon as the details emerged through media coverage, as reported by HINA.
The inquiry revealed that Kos, a national of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, physically assaulted his 20-year-old teammate after a verbal dispute, resulting in serious injuries. Teammates intervened to prevent any further attacks.
Prior media reports indicated that RK Zagreb had suspended Kos along with Zvonimir Srna following the physical altercation in the locker room, which was instigated by Kos after the team’s home defeat against Nantes in the Champions League.
Sources suggest that Kos struck goalkeeper Matej Mandić because he criticized him for a lackluster performance on the court.
While not revealing names, the police confirmed that a criminal complaint has been filed against Kos with the relevant Municipal State Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Zagreb.
