Chicago Declines Atlanta’s Proposal for Vučević as Warriors Continue Negotiations
The Chicago Bulls have turned down Atlanta’s proposal to trade Nikola Vučević for Clint Capela.
According to Hardwood Paroxysm, “Two of my sources indicated that the Hawks inquired about exchanging Capela’s expiring contract for Nikola Vucevic, but the Bulls have opted against it, citing other deals they wish to pursue.”
Previously, journalist Mark Stein mentioned that Chicago anticipates receiving a first-round draft pick in return for Vučević.
While the LA Lakers have moved on from pursuing Vučević, the Golden State Warriors are still interested but are unwilling to part with a first-round pick for him.
“Vučević, a 34-year-old center from Montenegro, is having a solid season, averaging 20.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, with a three-point shooting percentage of 40.6. The Bulls are holding out for a first-round pick in any trade. Golden State remains one of the teams showing interest, although they are not prepared to relinquish a first-round pick and are instead offering a second-round pick. The Warriors currently find themselves in a tough position, outside the play-in zone with a record of 22-23,” Stein reported.
