Following a strong performance in the EHF Euro 2026 qualifiers with wins over Finland and Slovakia in November, the Montenegrin national handball teams will reunite in January.
Although Montenegro will not compete in the World Cup, the team will take advantage of the January window to hold two friendly matches against Greece on January 10 and 11 in Thessaloniki.
These matches will serve as crucial preparation before the next round of qualifications for EHF Euro 2026, especially the upcoming double-header against Hungary in March, which is essential for securing the top spot in the group.
Coach Didije Dinar, now in his second term as head coach, plans to assemble a mixed team for this campaign. Notably, there will be a lack of playmakers and key players who have previously carried significant responsibilities during the qualifiers and in past years.
This opens the door for those who have seen limited playing time, alongside two newcomers – pivot Darko Pejović and wing player Darko Đurković.
The list compiled by Coach Dinar features 16 players, with Luka Radović and Stevan Vujović available for selection if needed.
The coaching staff supporting Dinar includes Lazar Simić, Mile Mijušković, Goran Music, Andrija Damjanović, and Maja Baltić.
The squad includes – goalkeepers: Nikola Matović and Haris Suljević;
wings: Aleksandar Bakić, Darko Đurković, Mirko Radović, and Vojislav Vukić;
pivots: Miodrag Ćorsović, Luka Vujović, Mihailo Šćekić, and Darko Pejović;
backs: Milorad Bakić, Arsenije Dragašević, Vasilije Kaluđerović, Stefan Čavor, Risto Vujacić, and Luka Vukićević;
reserves: Luka Radović and Stevan Vujović.
