The management of Juventus football club is looking to acquire striker Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window as a replacement for Dušan Vlahović, who is widely expected to leave the club at that time.
The Serbian international is nearing the end of a three-year contract with Juventus and is unlikely to extend his stay beyond the summer. This decision follows his management’s choice to halt negotiations for a contract renewal after learning that the club’s management did not plan to enhance his salary, according to reports from Italian media.
Vlahović’s contract runs until 2026, and the management aims to sell him this summer to avoid losing him as a free agent without any financial return.
Gazeta dello Sport has stated that Osimhen is the primary candidate to succeed Vlahović, with Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli currently assessing the opportunity. Giuntoli was instrumental in bringing Osimhen to Napoli in 2020 and is eager to collaborate with him again in Turin.
Juventus is optimistic that their positive relationship will convince Giuntoli to push for a transfer to Turin. At present, Osimhen is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
However, it is expected that Napoli will be hesitant to sell Osimhen, who has a €75m release clause for foreign clubs within his contract.
The Juventus management anticipates generating funds through Vlahović’s sale to present a compelling offer to Napoli, as they are confident in Osimhen’s ability to combine speed, physical strength, and precise finishing, as well as his experience playing in Serie A, as noted by Gazeta.
