Following the request from the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Nikšić, authorities have ordered the detention of citizens AM and B.Š. from Bosnia and Herzegovina due to reasonable suspicion of attempted smuggling.
The detention was enacted due to concerns about the potential for flight.
According to the Niksic ODT, “There is reasonable suspicion that AM and B.Š. acquired 26 packs of cigarettes that lacked excise stamps—a product whose circulation is restricted—from an unidentified individual in Podgorica. They had hidden these items in specially designed compartments within a passenger vehicle, with the intention of evading customs checks and transporting the cigarettes into Bosnia and Herzegovina, an attempt they were ultimately unable to carry out.”
