The final phase of work on nine secondary vocational schools in Montenegro is currently underway, alongside the reconstruction and expansion of kindergartens in Zabjelo and Kotor, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

On Thursday, Minister Anđela Jakšić Stojanović met with representatives from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

During the meeting, Jakšić Stojanović and the EIB representatives expressed satisfaction with the pace of the joint project implementation and noted the significant achievements in the recent period.

According to the announcement, the new building of the “Vladimir Nazor” school will soon be completed, and modern computer equipment valued at over seven million EUR has been provided to all schools across Montenegro.

“The works on nine secondary vocational schools are nearing completion, and projects are underway for the reconstruction and expansion of kindergartens in Zabjelo and Kotor. Additionally, deliveries of furniture to all schools will commence shortly,” the statement indicated.

The Ministry of Education and Science further reported that besides the accomplishments discussed, the meeting covered plans to conclude a donation agreement for the procurement of computer equipment valued at two million EUR, along with another donation contract worth 2.6 million EUR for a project mapping school infrastructure.

“Moreover, an additional loan arrangement worth 18 million EUR is planned to finance the ongoing project,” the Ministry of National Education and Research remarked.

A key topic during the meeting was the initiation of a new project intended to enable access to funds from the Growth Plan, which prioritizes the education sector.

The Ministry of National Economy added that, similar to the previous instance when an investment grant of over 11 million EUR was secured, the support and collaboration of EIB colleagues will be crucial.

“This meeting marks a significant advancement in the partnership between the ministry and the European Investment Bank, aimed at enhancing the quality of educational infrastructure in Montenegro,” stated the Ministry of Education and Research.
