In the 18th round of the regional AdmiralBet ABA League, SC Derbi will take on Zadar tomorrow at 5:30 PM in the famous “Peka” arena.
A significant challenge lies ahead for Petar Mijović’s squad at Višnjik.
“We have another tough away game coming up. Zadar has a seasoned roster that has established a balanced system of play for years under coach Jusup. They’re a very physically strong team, excelling at fast breaks and focusing on solid low post play along with defense on their key player, Mihailović… effectively neutralizing these two elements will be crucial,” Mijović remarked.
Currently, SC Derbi holds a record of six victories and 11 defeats, while Zadar boasts a favorable record of nine wins and eight losses.
“I expect our offense to be engaged, adapting to their defense and varied strategies, particularly in the pick-and-roll scenarios. We do have personnel challenges ahead of this game, which makes our preparation even tougher,” Mijović concluded.
The “Students” recently ended a losing streak with an away victory over Spartak, followed by a home win against Cibona, boosting team morale before the match in the beautiful “Krešimir Ćosić” hall – the popular Peka.
“We’re up against a strong Zadar team. Even though we achieved a convincing win earlier this season, we understand that the Zadar matchup will be quite challenging. We need to give our all and prioritize controlling the rebounds, which will help us maintain our strong performance and winning streak,” stated student center Filip Anđušić.
SC Derbi had a dominant display against Zadar in the first half at “Morača,” finishing with a score of 86:62.
On Sunday, Buducnost Voli will face Igokea at 7 PM, while Mornar Barsko Zlato will host Cedevita Olimpija an hour earlier.
