Bijelo Polje Welcomes the Cup Final Tournament

The concluding tournament for the Montenegrin Cup in both men’s and women’s basketball is set to take place from February 12 to 14 in Bijelo Polje, according to the Basketball Association.
A contract for hosting the final tournament of the Montenegro Cup was formalized by Darko Ivanović, Secretary General of the Basketball Association, Hasan Ramović, President of KK Jedinstvo Meridianbet, and Petar Smolović, President of the Bijelo Polje Municipality.
In the men’s category, eight teams will compete, while the women’s category will feature four teams.
The initial day of the tournament will showcase quarterfinal matchups, followed by semifinal clashes on the second day of the event.
Championship games in both categories are scheduled for February 14.
Among the contenders in men’s basketball are three teams from the ABA League: Budućnost Voli, SC Derbi, and Mornar, alongside the top four teams from the First A League. The final spot for the tournament will be decided in a playoff between the fifth-placed team from the First A League and the top team from the First B League.
Meanwhile, the senior women’s team will consist of the best four players from the first league, with the draw date to be announced later.
Last year’s men’s trophy went to SC Derby, who triumphed over Budućnost Voli with a narrow score of 81:80 in the finals, while Budućnost Bemax continued its reign in the women’s category with a decisive victory against Podgorica (83:59).
In addition to thrilling matches, there will be panel discussions featuring renowned basketball players and coaches, along with fun contests for the audience.
