The Belgian footballer Radja Nainggolan has been detained on suspicion of being involved in cocaine trafficking, according to police reports.
Media sources indicate that Nainggolan was apprehended during a Belgian police operation targeting an organized crime syndicate.
Initial reports suggest that Nainggolan was arrested for participating in and assisting the smuggling of cocaine from South America to Europe, using the port of Antwerp as a route. Police conducted searches of his residence and vehicle, uncovering evidence that resulted in his arrest.
This incident is not the first involvement with drugs for the former Belgian national team player, as he was recently seen socializing with individuals already under suspicion for drug-related activities.
Nainggolan has recently made a return to Belgium to compete with the second division team Lokeren.
Throughout his career, he has played for notable clubs such as Roma, Inter, and Cagliari, among others.
