Prime Minister Spajić Holds Meeting with Miroslav Lajčák in Davos

The reality of EU enlargement: Montenegro needs to fully embrace this opportunity and concentrate on the enlargement process

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić held discussions with Miroslav Lajčák, the EU Special Representative for the Western Balkans, during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Lajčák expressed his congratulations to Montenegro on successfully closing three negotiation chapters, with the primary focus of their discussion revolving around the forthcoming steps in Montenegro’s journey towards European integration.

The EU Special Representative made it clear that the EU enlargement process is once again gaining momentum, and the crucial question is how to capitalize on the current window of opportunity.

The meeting featured a thorough exploration of Montenegro’s political landscape and underscored the importance of stability in achieving the ambitious EU agenda. Both parties emphasized the necessity for Parliament to back the Government’s integration efforts to ensure all chapters are closed by 2026.

In conclusion, it was agreed that Montenegro must stay utterly dedicated to its European integration objectives.
