Regional Premier League, round 13 and a double victory for Montenegrin teams as a great announcement for the challenges in the Eurocup.
The Jadran Mtela water polo team is safe in the final four zone, and they recorded a new triumph against the rival with whom they will fight European battles on Saturday – Vladimir Gojković’s boys easily defeated Šabac 18:8.
“We will have to prepare even better and rest well because we know that Šabac is even more aggressive and stronger on home turf,” said Vasilije Radović.
Dmitrij Holod and Đorđe Lazić led the team to victory with three goals each.
An important triumph, which seemed to come at the right time, was also recorded by our other team from the Bay of Kotor – Primorac defeated Primorje from Rijeka 11:4 in Pula.
The team from Kotor celebrated after two defeats in the regional competition, and with this triumph they took an important step towards survival in the Premier League, or more precisely, they escaped the play-off zone.
“We played a tough match. We started off weak, but we managed to consolidate and turn the result in our favor,” said Dušan Matković.
The Montenegrin national team player led Vjekoslav Pasković’s team to victory with five goals.
“Those were important three points, and we’re leaving everything behind because new obligations await us soon – primarily in the Eurocup,” concluded Matković.
Primorac will also play the first match of the Eurocup round of 16 away – against the Hungarian BVSC.
