On Saturday, the Buducnost handball team will host Đero in the 11th round of the Champions League, a favorite from which they took a point in the first part of the season in “Morača”.
And now it is clear that the Hungarians have a big advantage, and coach Bojana Popović has no doubt that Đer remembers the draw from Podgorica.
“We know how strong the team is and how much it’s worth. And I’m sure it will be maximally ready and focused after the point we took from it in Podgorica,” said Bojana and added:
“We will try to bring the game into a rhythm that suits us, as much as possible, because physically and in running it is clear that we cannot match.”
The closure of Vipers and withdrawal from the competition has allowed the Podgorica handball team to fight for a place in the round of 16. Ahead of the last four matches, they are two points behind Rapid, who they will host in the final round.
“A possibility has opened up, maybe the duel with Rapid in the last round will be decisive. The motivation has, of course, increased, I told the girls to enjoy themselves and to try to take advantage of the chance,” said the legendary handball player.
Jelena Radivojević is questionable for the Hungarian tournament, and the bad news is that Nina Ramusović’s injury is more serious. The young handball player has torn a knee ligament and will have to take a longer break.
“I’m terribly sorry, because she was on the right track. Nina is a very hardworking child and I’m sure she will have the strength to get through this, with our help. Her career will be halted for six to seven months, but she can learn a lot during that period. She can learn even more and become stronger mentally, because she will need mental strength in the rest of her career,” concluded Bojana Popović.
