Turkish Clubs Eye Vujačić as Montenegrin Defender Finds Happiness in Kazan
Russian media reports that Turkish clubs are interested in the captain of Rubin.
Montenegrin player Igor Vujačić is being pursued by two teams in the Turkish Super League, with one being identified as Kasimpasa, who currently sits in 12th place, as reported by “Gazeta.ru“.
“There is always interest in Vujačić from Turkey during every transfer window,” a club source informed the portal mentioned above.
Nevertheless, there have been no substantial negotiations regarding Vujačić’s transfer as of yet.
“The entire process halted when Vujačić’s agent made it clear to potential ‘buyers’ that Igor is not leaving. He is very content with his life in Kazan,” adds “Gazeta”.
Vujačić joined the “AK Bars Arena” from Partizan in the summer of 2023. His move was unexpected given the sanctions on Russia, but it has proven to be a wise decision.
The “Falcon” defender has adapted excellently in Tatarstan’s capital, swiftly taking on the role of captain, making it hard to envision the 2008 and 2009 Russian champions without the former Zeta player.
“He can be referred to as the leader of the team. He is among those locker room players whose words are heeded without interruption. From his first appearances in the Rubin jersey, he almost instantly became a captain,” the portal notes.
