Mikijelj Repeatedly Contacted Me After the First Round to Arrange Government Formation Meetings

“I encourage those making statements on behalf of Mladen Mikijelj to refrain from ridiculing him,” stated Petar Odžić, deputy president of the SDP and leader of the European Alliance list in Budva.
“Approximately fifteen days ago, he was informed that the ‘Budva our city’ group was allegedly a drug syndicate. Yet, just one day later, he extended a hand of reconciliation, and three days following that, he labeled Jovanović as the biggest traitor. I would recommend having a single individual craft these statements, or if necessary, involve more than one, ensuring they all consult with the boss from Krimovica residing in Belgrade prior to release,” Odžić remarked in a statement sent to the media.
He emphasized that this inconsistency could lead voters to believe they are supporting someone with a fractured personality, or some other form of disorder.
“I also urge clarity in their language when drafting these messages, so that individuals familiar with Mladen can genuinely recognize him through the statements, as phrases like ‘legal degradation of the institutions of the system’ are far from his vocabulary,” Odžić stated.
Furthermore, he asserted that it is inappropriate for anyone to claim on his behalf that the SDP should refrain from returning to power, as Mikijelj had reached out to him multiple times after the first round, and numerous mediators have sought to arrange meetings to establish a government.
“Mladen has contributed significantly to the former Democratic Front, and he deserves to be treated with respect and dignity in public,” Odžić concluded.
